Volunteering opportunity at Forest Farm Peace Garden

What is the opportunity: Supporting a local horticultural social entreprise reclaim land for organic growing and reskilling at risk young adults.
– Clearing & Digging brambles; preparing soil for planting; sowing green manure, (also some potting on and watering).

When: Saturday 28th and Tuesday 31st May 9:30 – 3:30pm, with an hour’s lunch.

Where: Forest Farm Peace Garden, Hazelbrouck Gardens, Hainault, IG6 2XN

Recompense: Travel expenses and lunch,
One on one training with an experienced horticulturalist,
AQA qualification, after completing the two days.

Experience required: None.
Horticultural experience a bonus. This would be the perfect opportunity for someone who was considering entering into organic horticulture as a career path.

Notes: Audacious Veg (www.audaciousveg.org) is a project that supports young marginalised people find routes into work, and provides horticultural training and experience. As part of their growth, they need to clear an area of ground and prepare it for planting.

Attendees may have the opportunity to become more involved in future traineeships.
